About Wendy

Wendy provides counselling for Children, Adolescents, Adults, Couples and Families.

Wendy is trained in the person centred approach, which involves listening to her clients with empathy allowing her clients to talk creatively in a safe, confidential and dependable environment. The approach is non-directive and puts the client at the heart of the therapeutic process and allows you to set your own pace, one that you are comfortable with. Through a therapeutic relationship based on trust and mutual respect Wendy will provide a warm, confidential and non-judgmental space for you to explore difficult thoughts or feelings that may be uncomfortable or painful.

Wendy worked and trained at Sycamore House, Chelmsford, for 5 years, while working with children and young people with a wide range of issues. Such as, refugees, anxiety, bereavement, depression, bullying, anger, eating disorders, sexual identity, stress, depression, self-harm, school refusal, attachment and parental separation. Wendy uses her Person-Centred skills to listen to her young clients with empathy allowing her clients to talk or play creatively in a safe, confidential and dependable environment.

Counselling comes under the heading of talking therapy and allows someone to discuss their problems and any difficult feelings he or she may encounter. Wendy offers a safe, confidential space in which to explore these difficulties in a non-judgemental way.

Wendy works to the BACP’s Ethical Framework for Good Practice in Counselling and Psychotherapy. This ensures that she abides by the accepted code of conduct and accountability, as well as the confidential nature of the counselling process. A copy of the Ethical Framework is available on request.

Wendy deals with the following issues among others:

  • anger management, anxiety management, stress management,
  • couple counselling, marriage guidance, family therapy,
  • child counselling, adolescents counselling, relationship counselling,
  • drug counselling, alcohol counselling,
  • mental health, depression, bullying

Qualifications:-

BA (Hons) Therapeutic Communication & Therapeutic Organisations, Diploma of Higher Education level 5 Child and Young Person Counselling, Certificate of Higher Education level 3 Child and Adolescent Counselling Skills
