About Sara Farman
Sara is a Psychotherapist who wishes to show people such as yourself that there is a way to get help through life’s difficulties with counselling, that you are not alone in your struggles, that talking therapy can help you to make small changes that can have a massive impact on your life in a positive way.
Sara is an experienced Person-Centred Counsellor, specialising in Addiction therapy. She has been working in the counselling field for over seven years now. Two of those running a small bespoke practice alongside working for private healthcare and community charities. Her aim is to provide a counselling service that promotes a warm, loving and emotional environment by which clients can find themselves and the joy of life again.
Alongside her specialist addition work, Sara works with a wide range of issues including:
- Post Natal Depression
- Low self-esteem/self-worth
- Relationship/family breakdowns
- Anxiety/General Anxiety Disorder
- As well as a wide range of other mental health diagnoses (These must be diagnosed by your GP first)
Sara feels that counselling in today’s world is more important than ever. High levels of stress in the constant “switched on” society of today, is having an effect on the mental health of us all. With this stress, more and more people are looking for coping strategies to ”turn off” or ignore their issues rather than dealing with them.
Specialising in Addiction Counselling Sara has worked with those who use various substances and processes to cope with everyday life including:
- Sex and pornography
- Over Eating
- Workaholics and many more
The counselling session belongs to you and as your counsellor, Sara will support you as you make the decisions to input small changes that will lead to positive changes in your life.
Sara holds the following qualification:-
- Master’s degree in Addiction Psychology and Counselling.
- Undergraduate in Psychology.
- Registered Member of the British Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy.
- Federation of Drug and Alcohol Practitioners Accredited Member.
Sara believes it is extremely important as a therapist that she looks at herself and keep her own mental health well. Practising what she preaches is a value she lives by on a daily basis. She has been involved in her own therapy both on a one-to-one basis and in a group. Sarah also commits to maintaining professional standards and routinely pursues professional development.
